A closer look at society’s holiday and leisure time activities can reveal a lot about the desires and dreams that we need our holidays to fulfill. In this respect it is surprising to see that there is a continuing increase of interest in holidays that reflect our day-to-day lives – well organized and predictable. »Welcome to the club« investigates this phenomenon, by examining holiday clubs.

Holiday clubs are usually isolated from their surrounding environment and located in remote areas. This limits the guests’ radius of exploration or wandering to almost entirely within the club grounds. Most daily activities are orchestrated for the guests by the club animators.

»Welcome to the club« is the search for both the reasons and the causes that enable this type of holiday choice to exist.
